It's time to roll, walk, dance, ride and raise awareness –– and funds –– for people living with Spina Bifida and other disabilities!
I'm stROLLING for Empowerment with the Spina Bifida Resource Network (SBRN) on Sunday, June 4, beginning at 10 a.m. at Roosevelt Park, located at 151 Pasonage Road in Edison, N.J. (We'll be in front of the skating rink).
SBRN has been a source of support, information and socialization for me and others in the disability community.
There will be some snacks and drinks before and after we take a stroll around the lovely lake! Afterward, we'll announce the winners of the Tricky Tray (tickets available on site), including jewelry, sports tickets, theatre tickets, aquarium admission, park admission and more! If you stick around, we'll go down the road to my fav restaurant, JOSE TEJAS!
Please donate to the SBRN! Help motivate me to push harder and help me reach "top fundraiser." :) As state funding dwindles, your donation will support the nursing and family support services that SBRN provides to local children, adults and families. Click the "DONATE" button on this page or make an offline donation by mail or in person. Any and EVERY amount is appreciated!
NOTE: I updated my goal to $400 because I received a $100 offpage donation from Cris Marchione!
Want to register yourself? Fee is $10 for adults, $5 for SBRN members and free for anyone under 16. **Registration includes a Spina Bifida Awareness t-shirt if registered before May 18! Extra shirts will also be available for purchase on the day of the event.

Dear Friends,
We need your help more than ever! I’m participating in the Walk for Empowerment in Edison, NJ on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Roosevelt Park to raise awareness about Spina Bifida and to raise funds for the nursing and family support services that the Spina Bifida Resource Network (SBRN) provides to children and families.
The State of NJ has eliminated all funding for the services SBRN provides to children, and has limited funding for adults. In spite of this setback, SBRN has continued to provide nurses and family support coordinators to families’ homes, school meetings, medical visits and hospital beds to provide assistance, training, advocacy, comfort and support as needed. SBRN is committed to continuing services to people with Spina Bifida; however, now they need our support even more.
I have been personally touched by Spina Bifida, and I hope that you will consider supporting my efforts to help SBRN and the children and families it serves. There are a few ways to do this:
Making a donation is easy and secure- simply click the "Donate" button and you will be taken to a secure page. Make sure to bookmark this page and come back often to check on my progress!
Thank you for your help and support!
